Quality Assurance & Responsible Care Manager

Main Mission

Within the Operations & Processes – Responsible Care Department, the Quality Assurance & Responsible Care Manager will perform quality insurance and responsible care activities, and will work on both conventional and biorational products. The postholder will report directly to the General Manager Operations and Processes

Purpose

The Quality Assurance & Responsible Care Manager will provide any technical assistance with evaluation of any potential risks that the company has entered or may enter into with a business. The postholder will absorb all responsibilities in relation to the Agrochemical based Quality Assurance and Responsible Care and Sustainability tasks from the businesses that are conducted across Europe, Turkey, Middle East and Israel as well as Africa. The offices are located in Lyon, Barcelona, Milan and Durban/South Africa. The Manager Quality Assurance & Responsible Care evaluates existing and identifies new or enhanced systems, products and processes which advance business objectives. With the management endorsement, the Quality Assurance and Responsible Care management strategy is to be realized with support to the businesses under constant consideration of customer service, quality and safety , sustainability requirements as well as the legal compliances.

Key Challenges:

The postholder will have to:

  • Have a full understanding of the businesses and its profiles of Agro Chemical Solution Division Europe.
  • Assess of all existing product flows with support by Supply Chain & Logistics
  • Make an evaluation of existing supply contracts on inherited responsibilities, liabilities, any uncovered risk exposures from the supply and delivery perspectives
  • Act as the key project leader for introduction of the new eQMS system in stepwise introduction of Bizzmine under the guidance of the QM and OE Manager.

Key Accountabilities

Quality Assurance and Responsible Care Management

  • Set up, maintain and execute any Quality Assurance and Responsible Care related matters with support the management and in agreement with the different departments
  • Define any area of improvements on any existing or future agreement in relation to be assigned activities under the aspect of Responsibility, Accountability, Liability and clear distinction of these versus the other contracting party

Risk Management

  • Identify, prioritize and quantify risks involved in the supply chain process
  • Write up and issue procedures to minimize risks and secure alternative solutions
  • Set up and implement internal control system on the processes and procedures to ensure smooth overall business activities and minimize the company’s risks in line with JSOX

Developments, Evolution and Process Improvement

  • Keep abreast of developments and evolutions in the Quality Management / Responsible Care competences
  • Proactive attitude to consistently update own’s knowledge in his area of expertise
  • Stipulate, suggest, support businesses to adopt existing processes towards the impacts of EU regulations in view of “Green Deal” and other initiatives to secure most cost-effective business continuity for Sumitomo Chemical in Europe

Skills and profile required:

Training:

Master’s degree in Chemicals, Agrochemicals possibly combined with economics

Experience:

A minimum of 6 years of experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control and Responsible Care in an international company Experience in the Agrochemicals, Pharmaceutical or Chemicals Very good knowledge and experience in the business as well as business development in agrochemicals sectors Experience in managing consulting would be an asset

Skills:

Knowledges in multicultural awareness Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams Conceptual, analytical thinking Ability to apply analytical and business skills Developing others including change management

Languages skills:

Fluent in French and English Spanish should be a plus Additional Information:
