In the frame of significant investments in R&D, Sumitomo Chemical wishes to strengthen its efficiency and reactivity in the region of Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA). In this environment, a new position is open in our EMEA headquarter based in Saint Didier au Mont d’Or (69) – France for a:

EMEA Strategy & Portfolio Manager

Within the Portfolio department for the Europe Middle East Africa region, you will support the marketing and sales teams in the marketing of our innovations and existing products. Based on market data and contacts with our teams and customers, you will analyze marketing, technical, commercial and regulatory data to establish the marketing mix of our existing and future products. Reporting to the Marketing Europe Africa Middle East team, your main missions are:

• Create, develop and update the active ingredient and product strategies
• Drive the product life cycle management
• Build the budget figures and lead the implementation of action plans

In addition, you will benefit from a large autonomy to bring forward your proposals and express your creativity to complete the following activities:

• Analyze the adequacy between the positioning of our products and the farmers' expectations
• Ensure the marketing and commercial positioning of our products in a competitive environment
• Lead the marketing of our products through analysis and strategic, tactical and operational proposals

To achieve these goals, you will be in contact with:

• The Portfolio, Regulatory and Sales Director and their teams
• Sumitomo organizations in France, UK, Spain, Italy, South Africa
• Sumitomo Chemical in Japan and Valent Biosciences in the USA
• on a more occasional basis with other departments of the company or other global regions.

Required skills and profile

Knowledge: Graduate with a master’s degree in agronomy

Expertise in marketing of plant protection products in EU

Experience: 3-5 years in marketing position in agrochemical industry

Skills: Excellent communication and inter-personal skills

Sense of commercial relationship and contact

Good planning and organization skills

Autonomy, Initiative

Language: Fluent in German

Good written and oral skills in English (working language)

IT Tools: Workable knowledge of Microsoft Office
