Active Substance Registration Manager

Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe S.A.S. is the regional headquarter of Sumitomo Chemical Company, a R&D chemical company very active in researching of new molecules. Due to the acquisition of companies and a rich pipeline of new active substances and ambitious expected growth, Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe S.A.S. is looking for an experienced Registration and Regulatory Affairs manager in Crop Protection. The region covers Europe, Middle East and Africa and is in constant interaction with the headquarters located in Japan and in the United States. Main accountabilities In a complex and continuously evolving regional environment, The Regulatory Affairs Manager ensures Sumitomo Chemical Agro Europe obtains and maintains in a timely manner approval of active substances and authorizations of plant protection products or related products within the assigned geographical area Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) in coordination with the headquarters, affiliates and distributors.

Typical activities will include

  • Define and implement for the active substances and related products under your responsibility the registration strategy in Europe, Middle East and Africa in coordination with the Project Team (Marketing and Development).
  • Manage the dossiers in coordination with the headquarters, the consultants, and the Contract Research Organizations (if any) to ensure timely submissions and the approval/authorization are gained on time.
  • Monitor and follow up registrations progress in coordination with the Regional Registration Managers, fill the registration and project management data bases and Monthly reports.
This full-time position will require some travelling abroad, ability to team working and good oral and written communication skills at least in English and German. The position will report to the EMEA Registration and Regulatory Affairs Team leader.

Technical and personal skills

Master of Science in agronomy, biology, or related matters minimum Minimum 5 years of experience with legislative and regulatory processes related to plant protection products at European/country level is a must. Experience in Risk Assessments is a plus. Fluency in English and German. Any other language is welcome. French is not mandatory. Able to work independently, self-starter and interact well with people (good communication skills) from other department to achieve regional business objectives and to comply with internal policies as well as international régulations.
